At the request of the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and her husband, His Excellency Jean-Daniel Lafond, will conduct a State visit to Ukraine, from April 23 to 26.

From the Kyiv Post:

The ambassador noted that there exists a Ukrainian-Canadian agreement on cooperation in space exploration and in the nuclear energy sector. He said the representatives of the nuclear agencies of Ukraine and Canada are holding active talks.

The diplomat also noted that representatives of Canada are currently working with the Ukrainian space agency.

"We will be glad if a Ukrainian satellite is made in Canada," Caron said.

In turn, the deputy head of Ukraine’s Presidential Secretariat, Andriy Honcharuk, said that no documents are to be signed during Jean’s visit to Ukraine. At the same time, he said that Ukraine and Canada have already signed 45 interstate documents.
